The Jay Leonhart Trio performs his autobiographical and often very humorous songs with a strong taste of jazz and jazz soloing. His recent performance at Mezzrow will give you a clear idea of the trio’s work.
In addition to his 30 years in the recording studios of New York and LA, Mr. Leonhart has performed with most of the greatest jazz musicians and is in fact considered one of them imself. Jay began writing his own songs about everything almost 45 years ago and has now recorded 11 albums of his music, People everywhere know Jay Leonhart. His performances are anticipated for their storytelling,, his wit, and his trio’s great jazz playing.
