A bike tour exploring Jacksonville's amazing music history.
About this Event

Join The Jaxson's Ennis Davis, Bill Delaney and Mike Field for a two hour bike tour of key pieces of Jacksonville's vibrant music history. We'll visit LaVilla, a historic Black neighborhood dubbed the "Harlem of the South" for its role as a center of blues, jazz and ragtime; sites relevant to Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers and other Southern rock greats that hailed from Jacksonville; the city's underknown hip-hop heritage; and the birthplace of James Weldon Johnson and Rosamond Johnson, creators of "Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," the "Black national anthem."

Bring your bike and meet us at James Weldon Johnson Park. The narrated tour continues through the Northbank, LaVilla and Brooklyn and ends back the park. Street parking is free on Saturdays. Tickets are $20; kids 12 and under are free.
