Kintsugi translates as “golden joinery” and is the Japanese art of mending broken objects using gold resin to give items a renewed purposeThis technique involves mending broken ceramics using lacquer or resin dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum to create shimmering veins along the breakage points. Instead of being thrown away, this gives your broken cups, bowls, plates or vases a new lease of life, celebrating its history.
In this 3-hour workshop you will learn and practice modern Kintsugi techniques to repair your broken items, using gold or metallic powders to beautifully restore your ceramics to more than their former glory.
