YS Tang, a distinguished classical guitarist, is a luminary in Malaysia's classical music scene. This year marks his Singapore debut, kick-starting his 2024 tour across Malaysia. A graduate with a Masters in Music Performance from Texas Tech University, Tang is not only a performer but also an avid collaborator in chamber ensembles, delving into a broad spectrum of classical works with a special focus on early music.He is committed to expanding the reach of classical music through outreach programmes aimed at engaging younger audiences. Known for his captivating performances, his repertoire traverses Bach to Barrios and extends into the contemporary realm.
Beyond the stage, Tang enriches the classical guitar community through public seminars and is highly regarded as an educator, with over 25 years of experience. His contributions to both performance and pedagogy make him a leading voice for the classical guitar.
