The Beacon of Liberty: Haiti's Legacy
Haiti became the first free Black republic in the world on January 1, 1804, after a successful slave revolt that led to its independence from France. The Haitian flag was forged in the fires of revolution, when the white strip was removed from the French flag, symbolizing the removal of colonial influence and the joining of the Black and mixed-race populations. This category requires competitors to embody this historical moment and the national motto, L'Union fait la force ("Unity makes strength").
Bring it in a look that seamlessly blends the mandated colors (blue and red) into a cohesive, impactful presentation across their chosen focus: Face, Runway, or Performance. Think revolutionary elegance, resilience, and the triumph of the human spirit. The first battle is about demonstrating the undeniable strength that comes from coming together. Your look must prominently feature a dynamic, intentional balance of blue and red. The combination should look unified, not divided.

Your mission is to present a look that reflects the realness of both your chosen locale and yourself. Show the judges what "authentic" means to you, inspired by your selected region’s no-filter lifestyle. Choose a country or county that you believe represents genuine, unpretentious living. Streetwear $200+ 1 Trophy
Tokyo Drift: The Art of Harajuku Streetwear
High fashion, individuality, and self-expression straight from the vibrant streets of Tokyo. Japan’s streetwear culture is arguably the most dynamic and influential in the world, renowned for its fearless blending of high-fashion labels, vintage finds, unique silhouettes, and iconic subcultures like Harajuku style, Lolita, and Techwear. You must capture the raw energy and unapologetic individuality of Japanese street style. Your mission: Curate and wear a look that you would realistically see turn heads on a busy crossing in Shibuya or a side street in Harajuku. Bring the aesthetic, the attitude, and the confidence of Tokyo street style to the runway.
The look must clearly reflect recognizable Japanese streetwear aesthetics (e.g., Techwear, Harajuku Decora, Ura-Harajuku, Shibuya Gyaru, or a unique high-fashion Tokyo blend). The way you wear the clothes matters as much as the clothes themselves. Walk the runway as if you own the streets of Tokyo—confident, individualistic, and effortlessly cool. Attention to detail wins. Accessories, hairstyles, makeup, and layered textiles should all contribute to a cohesive, complex look characteristic of Japanese style.

The Mecca Mic Drop: NYC Battle Rap Originators
Honoring the raw, competitive roots of battle rap in New York City. Tonight, we travel back to the parks and street corners of New York where hip-hop culture was born and battle rap emerged as a true lyrical combat sport. The objective is simple: showcase pure, unadulterated talent in the spirit of the birthplace of lyrical showdowns. We’re looking for flow, punchlines, stage presence, and the confidence that defines the NYC battle scene.
Your 10s must incorporate the word "Brooklyn" naturally within your bars. To truly channel the originators, attire should reflect classic 90s/early 2000s New York hip-hop culture. You must wear a New York Yankees hat as a nod to the city that started it all. Step up to the mic, represent the Mecca of Hip-Hop, and drop those bars. Show us who the real lyrical king/queen of the night is!

House with the most HIV test $500
Status Check: The U=U Global Health Challenge
Awareness, responsibility, and the power of knowing your status. Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to your health and the health of our global community. This category is dedicated to promoting awareness about HIV/AIDS and encouraging proactive health decisions. We challenge every competitor and every house to lead by example and prioritize health awareness.
Getting tested is a simple, quick act of self-care and global responsibility. It’s essential for peace of mind, access to treatment if needed, and preventing further transmission. Crucially, modern medicine has achieved incredible strides. When a person living with HIV is on effective treatment, the virus becomes undetectable in their blood. The scientific consensus is clear: Undetectable Equals Untransmittable (U=U). An undetectable viral load means you cannot transmit HIV sexually to a partner. Knowing your status opens the door to this life-changing medical reality.
We are turning this vital message into a high-stakes competition! The goal is simple: which house demonstrates the highest commitment to health awareness? We want the most members from a single house to get tested and confirm their HIV status before the start of the second half of the main competition tonight. The house with the most members tested will receive a bonus prize of $500 cash.

The goal is to wear a heel so striking, so unique, that it immediately grasps the attention of every single person in the room.
The focus is entirely on the footwear. We are looking for unique structures, avant-garde designs, daring heights, or exquisite embellishments. These are not everyday pumps; these are showpieces. You must be able to work the runway in your chosen footwear. Confidence is paramount. The walk must sell the shoe. Strap in, step up, and show us a heel that stops the show!

Special Category: "The G.O.A.T. (Getting Over All Trades) Award" $1K + trophy
This special recognition category celebrates the incredibly driven individual who defines versatility, resilience, and outstanding achievement across multiple facets of life. The "G.O.A.T. Award" is designed for the person who expertly juggles the demanding roles of a dedicated student, a reliable employee, a competitive ballroom competitor, and a conscientious caretaker, all while maintaining excellence in every arena. This person is a true "jack of all trades"—not just mastering many things, but mastering the balance required to keep life running smoothly. The winner of the "G.O.A.T. (Getting Over All Trades) Award" is recognized for their incredible dedication, organization, and inspiring ability to excel under pressure across every aspect of their busy, balanced life.
Eligibility Requirements
To compete for the "G.O.A.T. Award," the nominee must meet the following criteria:
• Age: Between 16 and 25 years old.
• Academics: Currently enrolled in high school, college, or university, maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must send copy of transcript.
• Work Ethic: Actively employed while attending school. Must show proof of employment.
• Ballroom Competitor: Actively training and competing in the ballroom world.
• Home/Life Management: Demonstrates responsibility for significant household duties or family care.
• Deadline: April 13th, 2026
The judging for this category does not involve a performance but rather a display of character, commitment, and presentation. Competitors will present themselves in an elegant outfit that balances professionalism (representing work/school) with flair (representing ballroom life). Each house parent will nominate 1-2 members for this award. The member must write a paragraph detailing why they are the ultimate “jack of all trades.” They must articulate how they manage their packed schedule, their personal philosophy on balance, and how their multi-faceted life fuels their overall drive.
Here is an example of what a compelling competitor might share with the judges to win the title:
"I am the definition of dynamic equilibrium. I rise at five, studying the nuances of Macroeconomics before my shift starts, because a 3.0 GPA is my non-negotiable standard. By afternoon, I transition from employee to student, absorbing knowledge with the same focus I apply to a ballroom routine. My evenings are a blur of culinary duties and quick pivots—managing household responsibilities before racing to the studio to perfect a Rumba turn. While some see a chaotic schedule, I see synergy. My work ethic funds my passions; my studies sharpen my strategic thinking for competitions; and the discipline of ballroom gives me the stamina to manage home life. I don't just juggle these roles; I dance through them, stepping up and ensuring everything gets done with grace and grit. I am not just a jack of all trades; I am a master of balance, and that is why I am the G.O.A.T."
The judging for this category does not involve a performance but rather a display of character, commitment, and presentation. The winner will be picked by different professionals that has no connection to ballroom. The winner will be announced on the day of the ball. Good luck everyone!
