As part of the Mobtown Ballroom’s 13th Anniversary Celebration on September 20th we will be hosting the Intergalactic Lindy Hop Championships: a Strictly Lindy competition (meaning that you sign up with a partner and are judged as a pair) with a $500 prize for first place.REGISTRATION OPENS AT 7PM ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 23rd.
Format:
• Band Break 1 - Fast Dancing. Couples will all dance in a group and get at least 3 songs increasing in speed.
• Band Break 2 - Slow Dancing. Couples will all dance in a group to at least three slow songs of varied styles.
• After the First Band - Finals. Five couples (to be posted during the band’s final set and picked based on a combined score of their fast and slow dances) will compete jam-style to a mix of fast and slow songs.
Winning couple takes it all and gets $500.
***Both contestants must be registered for the anniversary celebration in order to compete.
