The Indigo Project: Ancestral Reverence Revival Artist Panel

The Indigo Project: Ancestral Reverence Revival is an artist talk and communal conversation with the participating artists of The Indigo Project focusing on their creative relationships between their histories, the materials they use, and the revolutionary practice of ritual performance found across the African Diaspora.

Led by Ayitian-American independent curator and Black Queer Artivist, Isha Rosemond and Independent Curator and Lucumi Priestess, Bushmama Africa, this talk seeks to answer the question: “How do Black artists then and now move toward a sustainable Afro future?”

About The Indigo Project

The Indigo Project remembers the stories of African Diaspora history that have been dismembered from our collective memories: “indigo” as healing, as the Earth, as adornment, as connection; “project” as in a spiritual assignment intentionally planned to fulfill a specific purpose.

Curated by Bushmama Africa and Isha Rosemond, The Indigo Project is a landmark multidisciplinary exhibition centers Black artists and their stories as means to combat the erasure of African American history, culture, and creativity.
