The Listening Booth and our nonprofit, We’re Listening, are launching a new annual honor called The Key Change Award—and our first recipient will be Congresswoman Sarah McBride.
This award is meant to highlight individuals whose work aligns with our mission: bringing people together in community to combat loneliness. Sarah’s inclusive message and the way she leads by example embody that mission perfectly.
We’ll be hosting a cocktail-style event featuring speakers and musicians, with the presentation of the award as the highlight. The evening would be a fundraiser for We’re Listening.
The event itself: a VIP meet & greet, cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres, followed by performances, short presentations, the award ceremony, and maybe even some dancing—a truly joyful night.
------------
Just as a key change in music can lift a song, shift its energy, and surprise the listener with new emotional depth, The Key Change Award honors individuals who inspire powerful transformation in their communities.
This annual award is given to a person whose actions—whether through the arts, education, activism, or everyday kindness—have sparked connection, uplifted voices, and created meaningful change. They may not always be on a stage, but their impact is impossible to ignore.
The Key Change Award celebrates:
- Those who challenge the status quo to build a more inclusive and compassionate world
- Bridge-builders who use creativity and courage to bring people together
- Individuals who embody the spirit of “good trouble,” using their talents to harmonize, heal, and transform
By recognizing these changemakers, we reaffirm our belief that music, like justice, requires bold shifts—and the courage to play a new note.
