The Importance of Being Earnest

Inspiration's Edge Presents: The Importance of Being Earnest

What's in a name? Quite a lot, it turns out. The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde's sparkling comedy of mistaken identities, invented alter egos, and more cucumber sandwiches than anyone strictly needs. Over a century later, it remains one of the funniest plays ever written in the English language.

Two young gentlemen, two charming ladies, one formidable aunt, and a lost handbag are all it takes to turn Victorian propriety upside down.

Jack Worthing and his friend Algernon each lead a convenient double life, and both are quite pleased with themselves for it. But when romance enters the picture, their carefully kept fictions begin to unravel in ways neither gentleman could have planned and their double lives collide in a whirlwind of lies, handbags, and the formidable Lady Bracknell.
Love, it seems, is a very serious business.
