About this Event
The Imagination Station - Story Creation Workshops
Looking for creative workshops this summer? Come and take part in The Imagination Station, a series of 4 drama and story making workshops for ages 7-11, inspired by the Summer Reading Challenge 2024 Marvellous Makers.
Across 4 weeks at Exeter Central Library, theatre maker Helen Bovey from Above Bounds will work with young people to create their own stories, through a series of games, drama exercises and creative tasks.
Come along to build confidence, have fun & get a little silly.
These workshops are 1 hour long and are drama-based, practical sessions, perfect for ages 7-11. Ideally, young people would sign up to every workshop, but if you cannot attend a session, let us know so we can make the space available to another young person.
The sessions will take place from 11 - 12 on Mondays 29 July, 05, 12 & 19 August
Who is Helen Bovey?
Helen is a Devon-based theatre-maker with over 10 years’ experience in working with children and young people. Since 2016, Helen has produced and created theatre through her company Above Bounds Theatre Collective, and has created work theatres and schools across the South West. Helen is particularly passionate about making theatre for young people, with young people, and these workshops will be the start of the creation of a new show.
We ask that during these workshops parents with children under the age of 8 remain in the Library, and it's totally fine for adults to stay in the workshop or even join in! Please do sign up for all 4 workshops if you're able to
These workshops will take place on the 2nd floor of the Library in the Rougemont Room, accesible via lift and stairs. For any questions re accesibilty, email Chris on [email protected]
