About this Event
The IMA/Student Coffee Chat is a NEW small group student and professional informal experience

Where: Starbucks at Dean’s Patio, 400 E Lemon St. Tempe, AZ 85281, ASU.

What: During this event, students will be given the opportunity to interact with Deborah C. Michalowski, CPA of Intel Finance in a relaxed, conversation-stimulating environment. Deb will share her career journey, how IMA has benefitted her, and share one of her favorite business self-help books. During the Coffee Chat, the first 10 students to register will receive a complimentary copy of the recommended self-help book and their choice of drink at the coffee shop.

This experience will help the student maximize their potential to earn their career of choice.

Bio: Deb Michalowski is the Reporting, SOX and BPM Manager within the Global Tax Group at Intel Finance in Chandler, Ariz. As a business process management and controls expert, she drives modernization of data analysis and visualization projects with AI and robotic process automation. In her citizenship leadership role, Michalowski spearheads a global team of volunteers for Intel Finance’s Finance Professional Certification Program, which provides cross-site CPE events, information regarding certifications, and acumen-building networking opportunities. Before joining Intel, Deb founded a management accounting consulting and tax preparation company in Arizona, acting as president with two partners.

Michalowski has been an IMA member since 2007, serving in various leadership roles at the chapter and council levels, including president of both the AZ Valley of the Sun Chapter and the Wild West Council. She is currently serving her chapter as the Director of the Student Chapter Relations and Education Committee member. At the global level, Michalowski has chaired the IMA Conference Committee and served on the IMA Committee on Ethics for five years, acting as chair for three years. She is a member of IMA’s Performance Oversight and Audit Standing Board Committee and chair of the Audit Subcommittee.

Michalowski received her bachelor's degree in financial management with a concentration in accounting from Clemson University in 1983. She became a CPA in Arizona in 2008 and a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt at Intel Corporation in 2019.
