The Illuminated Self :: Breath, Sound, Cacao & Nature Awareness Workshop

Join us in a growing community workshop practice of breath, sound, and nature awareness with a delicious cup of cacao. We will gather on sacred in the Branciforte area of Santa Cruz, CA, original home of the Ohlone, Esselen and Salinan.

This workshop is for those who want to explore the benefits of the breath in a natural setting accompanied by live instrumental sounds.

The breath work we focus on is a gentle, fluid practice of conscious-connected breathing.

We will also share live instrumental sounds to support the breath work and cacao experience. Our circle will be ongoing; attend one or join them all. We will begin at 1 p.m. and close our circle with a small fire at 6:30 p.m.

A guided meditation will open our circle, focusing on nature and how we can live more regeneratively on this planet. The meditation will be followed by awareness exercises and practices to align your most profound truths with sustained action.

An itinerary of the day:

12:45 pm:: Arrival

1 pm: Opening circle, guided meditation

1:15 pm: Breathwork & sound journey (conscious-connected breathing practice and live sound journey)

2:30 pm: Break for a shared light lunch (organic, locally grown juice, salad & nuts)

3 pm: Sharing of cacao and journaling/reflection prompts. (The cacao we serve is a heart-opening medicine grown organically in South America.

3:45 pm: Walk to a nearby creek to attune ourselves to nature with gentle movement and awareness exercises

5 pm: Closing circle around a fire with the opportunity to listen and share ourselves freely(songs, poems, instruments, and dance are all welcome!)

6:30 pm:: Departure

We approach the work very diligently, with skilled, trained facilitation. Our facilitation is from a lineage in Canada called the Breathwave. We have devoted thousands of hours to studying and training to obtain the highest levels of trauma-informed facilitation.

The breath practice is shared with a gentle, fluid breath into the belly and a soft exhale, releasing and letting go of stress, anxiety, and other dense energies and opening the potential for vital energy to flow once again.

This experience can bring emotional release, present-moment awareness, and ecstatic joy, along with many other amazing gifts and benefits.

That being said, we lean towards less is more.

A note about safety and inclusion:

We will be gathering outside, practicing inclusion of all walks of life.

The price per class is $65. This is a first-come, first-served event and we are capping it at ten people. It will fill fast, so please sign up before we close the registration.
