About this Event
The Human Algorithm: Dignity, Willpower and Meaning in an AI-Driven World
The third session of our RSA lunchtime series, presented by Bio-Wired AI, welcomes Skye Mendes on Friday 27 March at the Royal Society of Arts.
Skye is a South African businesswoman and trained nurse whose career has spanned fashion, retail, media and now healthcare. After battling and recovering from stage 4 bowel cancer, her work has taken on a deeper purpose.
Today, she draws on both her medical training and lived experience to support patients and families navigating rehabilitation and end-of-life care, advocating for dignity, presence and meaning during life’s most vulnerable moments.
Her research and experience point to something powerful: human will can defy the odds.
In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, Skye explores what she calls “the human algorithm” — the resilience, values and sense of purpose that cannot be automated.
A conversation about courage, care and protecting what it truly means to be human.
