OBJECTIVES
A teatime in-person seminar to look at the proposals contained in the Housing (Scotland) Bill 2024. Led by Jim Bauld, the session will look at the provisions in the Bill which relate to both public and private sectors and include:
- Rent controls in the private sector
- Evictions….duty on court to consider delay
- Rights for tenants to keep pets/make alterations
- General tenancy related provisions (including delivery of notices in RSL cases by email)
- Homelessness provisions (including domestic abuse )
As always questions from the audience on these issues (and any others!!) will be welcomed !!

This seminar is aimed at anyone with an interest in Housing law whether as a solicitor, trainee, advice worker or landlord.
SPEAKER
Jim Bauld, Partner, TC Young
Jim has specialised in tenancy law related matters since 1994. He was the first solicitor in Scotland to be accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Housing and Residential Tenancy Law. He is a legal member of the First-tier Tribunal (Housing and Property Chamber, Local Taxation Chamber and Social Security Chamber ). He has delivered hundreds of seminars/training sessions for various organisations including LSA, SFHA, CIH, GWSF and others on all aspects of Scottish residential tenancy law including evictions, antisocial behaviour, rent arrears and Pre-Action Requirements, property factoring and the code of conduct, repairs law, allocations and successions.
