Liverpool Horror Club are back once again with our alternative Xmas Market featuring creatives and crafters who specialise in making all manner of things which are spooky, creepy, and ghoulish!
THE VENUE
This year, we have an awesome new venue which will be playing host to our market… THE LINER HOTEL. This is an amazing building in Liverpool, which is decked out to feel like a cruise ship! We are using the Britannica Suite which is large enough for 50 stallholders! The hotel is located behind Lime Street Station, which is great for public transport plus a dedicated hotel car park next to the building. The venue is fully accessible.
THE HORRIFIC MARKETPLACE
We have a coterie of 50 independent creatives who specialise in the darker side of things! More than half are stallholders who have never showcased their work at a LHC event before – so even veterans of our events will find marvellous new treasures at this fair. There’ll be artwork, prints, props and patches. Candles, cross stitch, curios, oddities and taxidermy fit for any cabinet. Get your filthy mitts on horror-themed xmas cards, horrific t-shirts, and jawdropping jewellery. You’ll also find zines, books, comics and more. We will publish a full list of traders in the coming weeks…
SPOOKY SANTA’S GROTTO
We believe that children and adults alike deserve a wonderful joyously jolly grotto experience. However, we have never been graced with a traditional North Pole approved Santa Claus. Undeterred, once more we call out to the season’s spirits to summon the embodiment of this festive time. We will cast runes, sacrifice elves, and prepare an opulent occult grotto fit for the King of Christmas! Whomsoever turns up, you shall be able to visit them in their lair and make your Xmas wish! We will ask a small fee to visit ‘Santa’ and in turn you will receive a rubbish present.
BRING THE KIDS!
This is an all-ages family friendly event. Some children who have grown up in a horror-loving household will probably think all of this is cool. Others, who are less accustomed to such things may be scarred for life. You know what your kids can handle. Adult supervision and discretion are not only recommended but required.
A TIME FOR CHARITY
We’ll be taking the opportunity to raise funds for charity. There’ll be a raffle, donation tins, and a portion of the money raised from Santa’s Grotto will be put into this charity pot too.
ACCESSIBILITY & QUIET HOUR
The venue is fully accessible. The market will be held on the first floor which can be reached via a flight of stairs or an elevator.
The market will officially be open from 12midday to 6pm, however we are designating the first hour as QUIET HOUR. During this time, we will limit market access to those with sensory, physical, and mobility difficulties (and those accompanying them). We would also include those who have large buggy/prams. We aim to be inclusive at our events and feel this will allow everyone people to enjoy the shopping experience in a more relaxed environment before the market gets busy.
