About this Event

The Friends of the Bronxville Public Library is thrilled to invite the community to a special talk by renowned endocrinologist and Bronxville resident Dr. Gillian Goddard, author of THE HORMONE LOOP: An Empowering Guide to Restoring Hormonal Harmony, from Puberty to Menopause.

THE HORMONE LOOP is an essential and long overdue book that equips women with the knowledge and confidence to become their own powerful, self-advocates, and also empower mothers to help their daughters navigate the often confusing stage of puberty.

As Dr. Goddard clearly explains, there are four distinct hormone loops that keep our bodies in balance: the reproductive loop, the thyroid loop, the growth hormone loop, and the adrenal loop. While these loops often operate quietly in the background, each plays a powerful role in our lifelong health. Drawing from years of clinical experience, Dr. Goddard presents a definitive and engaging guide.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution to the challenges and changes women’s bodies experience throughout life, but hormones often hold the key. Weaving stories from her practice with the latest medical research and featuring helpful charts and illustrations, THE HORMONE LOOP breaks down the problems that commonly arise throughout our lives and offers a clear rubric for how to have better conversations with our doctors.

Dr. Gillian Mueller Goddard is an endocrinologist and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She is the author of The Savvy Patient newsletter, and a contributing writer at ParentData by Emily Oster. Gillian attended the Cronkite School of Journalism and Telecommunication at Arizona State University, Columbia University, and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. She lives in Bronxville with her husband and their four children.
