The Horde improv workshop (Mojo Comedy Co.)

Everyone on stage all the time!

The Horde is a wild and exciting longform improv format without a backline or sideline: the entire cast appears in every scene. Each player will have the chance to cycle through character roles as well as playing background, support, even inanimate objects.

It’s the perfect format for students/performers looking to break out of control freak tendencies: a format where trust, support and teamwork take center stage.

SKILLS: Creativity, support, character, physicality, versatility

WHO IS IT FOR? Students who have some longform improv experience. This includes students who have completed Longform 1 or Level 5 at Montreal Improv.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Vance Gillis is an improv performer, teacher and producer who has worked with students of all experience levels since 2012. He is the former Education and Corporate Director at Toronto's Bad Dog Comedy Theatre and former Artistic and Education Director at Montreal Improv Theatre. He first performed The Horde in 2016 and has taught it to audience several times in the years since.
