About Stims Collective
We are a collective of autistic film scholars, journalists and filmmakers, with a mission to create and curate accessible and relaxed spaces for neurodiverse audiences. For us, going to the cinema has never been a straightforward experience. We identified a lack of conversation surrounding how to make the cinema a more comfortable and inspiring environment for those with specific access needs, and a lack of inclusivity in discussions about cinema in general.
Stims seeks to offer an alternative way of being in the world through film, for neurodivergent people, by neurodivergent people. We aim to curate and signpost regular Relaxed Screenings in venues across the UK, encouraging discussions that explore films through the lens of neurodivergent experience.
We believe that cinema should be accessible to all, and that neurodivergent people should be at the forefront of creating spaces for neurodiverse audiences.
