About this Event
To celebrate 30 years in print, Street Spirit has teamed up with Left in the Bay and East Bay Yesterday to host a panel about the legacy grassroots media, featuring representatives from the Berkeley Barb, the Panther Press, and Street Sheet for a discussion about the history and utility of these publications dating back to the 1960s, the importance and impact of alternative media over the decades, and the value of print production in our technological era.
Come for the panel and stay for the party! We'll have merch and drinks for sale, Billy X Jennings will be exhibiting a curated selection from his Black Panther Party archive, and we'll cut a rug with DJ sets from a few local selectors.
This event is free and open to the public.
