Rabbi Smookler and The Ruach can't wait to see you next Wednesday, September 15 at 7:00 p.m. EDT either in person or virtually. The Experience happens in the historic Great Aunt Stella Center.
Can't join us? No worries there will be a multi-camera livestream on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. (Click one of the preceding links a little before 7 p.m. to experience Kol Nidre with The Ruach Community.
FAQs:
*WHAT DOES IT COST TO ATTEND? There is no cost to attend and no membership required. Everyone welcome!
*DO I NEED TICKETS? None are required however, please consider letting us know if you will be attending the in-person services by clicking the TICKETS link in this event. This will allow us to plan given the ever-changing pandemic situation.
*WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? Wear whatever you like. All we ask is that you be respectful. After all, this is a holy time.
*WHERE IS THE EXPERIENCE GOING TO BE HELD? In the Great Aunt Stella Center located at 926 Elizabeth Avenue. Interestingly, there is nothing on the outside of the building saying "Great Aunt Stella Center." There is a big sign out front that says, "Self-Help" and it says "East Avenue Tabernacle" above the front door.
*HOW MANY SEATS ARE THERE? The Great Aunt Stella Center sanctuary has seating for 400
*WHERE DO I PARK? You may park in the Mecklenburg County parking deck directly behind The Great Aunt Stella Center. You will need to take a ticket upon entry however parking is FREE and the gates will be up when the service is over.
*IS THERE A MACHZOR (PRAYER BOOK)? Watch for a link to download a machzor. There will be no projection for this Experience.
*WHAT HEALTH PRECAUTIONS ARE BEING TAKEN? To help protect those who choose to attend The High Holy Days Experience in person, The Ruach will closely follow guidelines provided by the CDC and the NC Department of Health and Human Services. In addition, we will follow all mandates implemented by Charlotte and Mecklenburg County as well as the policies of The Great Aunt Stella Center. Everyone in attendance must wear a mask. (Please note those on the stage/bimah who are singing, or speaking will do so without any face covering as permitted by the Charlotte and Mecklenburg County mandates. To comply with these mandates, we will close the first few rows of seating so we can maintain a distance of at least 20 feet from the audience.)
*WILL THERE BE SECURITY? Officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have been engaged to patrol the Experience.
