The Hero's Journey in the Medicine Wheel - 4 Part Series
with Sarah Goff

Are you one who is seeking awakening? If so, you may be a bodhisattva walking the way of the buddha. The shamans in the America’s also speak of a path of awakening, they refer to their bodhisattvas as Earth Keepers. The Q’ero shamans of Peru have a medicine wheel that they use to symbolize this path of awakening.
In the medicine wheel, each direction has a set of practices that help you maintain center and write a new story of healing. The shaman isn’t the one who knows magic, it is because they have healed themselves and now wish to invite you on the journey. Through a mixture of wisdom teachings, clear instructions, practical exercises and transformative meditations these courses will guide you on a powerful pathway that will change your life.
Join all four directions for an awakening walk in beauty. You will create your own mesa, a shamans altar, learn tools for self reflection and healing, sourcing your destiny and much more. This is the Hero’s Journey.
THE HERO’S JOURNEY IN THE SOUTH
March 26-27, 2022
Entering the medicine wheel in the south we associate with the physical body, the material world, and sensory perception. The way of the hero is to recall that there are other ways to perceive the world. From the shamans perspective we are on a parallel path to the bodhisattva journey, “One whose goal is awakening.” You’ll begin to recognize the events from your early life that shaped and molded you, as well as how your families and culture affected who you’ve become. And then, when you outlive that story, you can craft a new one that’s better suited to a hero’s journey.
By working with the four practices associated with the way of the hero in the south you can create new and better stories. Here the shaman reminds us that we are not our stories, but the story tellers. The practices are: Non-judgment, Non-suffering, Non-Attachment and Beauty.
THE HERO’S JOURNEY IN THE WEST
April 23-24, 2022
Walking in the West of the Medicine Wheel your inner hero will discover their warrior nature. We remember how to walk with fearlessness. Here we recognize our own energetic boundaries and how we may create beautiful shadows. The shaman says, nothing that hides in the dark has any true power of its own. Us being afraid of it, is what gives it power. Fear makes us feel separate from the world, from nature, and from our own inner self. Through easy practices you will exorcise fear and its darkness within by embracing love and its light. Through recognizing the ways we limit our own perception of the landscape within us we source fearlessness.
By engaging the four practices of the West associated with the way of the luminous warrior, you can dispel fear. The four practices are: Fearlessness, Non-Doing, Certainty and Non-Engagement.
THE HERO’S JOURNEY IN THE NORTH
May 14-15, 2022
The Way of the Seer, is to walk quietly on the earth and dream.
For an Earth keeper, there’s little difference between the sleeping and the waking dreams of everyday life. Earth keepers try to be fully awake even while asleep, and, when awake, they are able to dream a world of grace and beauty into being. Here we work with lucid dreaming or dream yoga and what it means to dream courageously. In the north the Earth keeper sheds the roles that keep them in a mold so they can source the freedom to fly.
The practices of The Way of the Seer will teach you how to create with your eyes wide open. Those practices are: Beginner’s Mind, Transparency, Integrity and Living Consequently.
THE HERO’S JOURNEY IN THE EAST
June 24-25, 2022
The Way of the sage, means you look around and see only beauty. You have transcended that witch once caused great suffering in your life. The sage understands that everything they experience is a projection of their inner landscape, or dream. In the East we get a chance to begin anew with a bigger picture of what we wish to co-create. This means that because we are the creators of each event and incident in our life, nothing ever happens to us. We now know how to 'insource' and dream our world into being. There is no reason to fix anything outside ourselves when we remember this.
Imagine the world is a stage that we project our lives onto. This doesn’t mean that the world isn’t real . . . the world is very real. We simply confuse the image we project with reality, trying to change the action on the stage when what we really want to do is write a new script. Once you recall that you can do this whenever you want, you will not be a helpless victim or an innocent bystander. You have now completed the medicine wheel.
The Ways of the Sage in the East, you learn how to forever cease to be a helpless victim or an innocent bystander. Those practices are: No Mind, No Time, Owning Your Own Projections and Indigenous Alchemy.
