The Heifer Belles began as friends getting together for casual picking and singing. The result, a blend of back porch Americana, took them out of the living room and into the world to perform. The group’s songs range from tongue-in-cheek to heartfelt to socially insightful.
~Juliet Gobert, song writer and lead singer, plays guitar alongside bassist
~Toni Valenta (Belly Love) who brings harmony vocals and strong spirit
~Nici Van Kreidt is a sought-after violin teacher with influences from classical to Grateful Dead & gypsy jazz
~Nichole DaLuz, newest member, brings vocals, keys and accordion to the group, and adds some of her own songwriting, as well
They recently released their fourth studio recording, Midnight Blue. The new record features all original songs recorded at Cedro Recording Studio in Nevada City. The band has previously released three other CDs – Heifer Belles, The Way and Ranch Women’s Prayer.
The Heifer Belles have played some of California’s premier music festivals; Kate Wolf, Strawberry, World Fest, American River, Home Grown Americana, Cowboy Poetry festivals and more.

Valerie and The Bear River Boys consist of four lifelong musicians who have come together to make the music we enjoy.
~Valerie Kramer brings original songs, lyrics, and music, along with lead vocals, guitar, flute & mandolin.
~JD Gardemeyer plays all things strings, plus vocals and original songs, lyrics, and music. Also known for snappy banter, quick witted repartee, and general mirth
~Jesse Guerra shares unbridled enthusiasm, as well as double bass, upright bass, and fretless bass.
~Chuck Parrnelli plays guitar and mandolin, and maybe a song, sometimes.
Only recently joining forces, each member brings decades of musical experience, from a diverse background of influences from opera and classical to jazz, blues, country, and bluegrass. They blend original Americana songs with re-imagined covers in an honest, laid-back style.
They layer fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, and bass into a sound that feels like home. Led by a soulful female vocalist, the group’s music flows from heartfelt originals to familiar tunes with an easy charm that invites everyone to listen, relax, and enjoy the ride.
