Come join us for a transformative experience at The Heart of Healing: An Experiential Introduction to IFS event! Dive deep into the world of Internal Family Systems therapy and discover the power of healing from within. This in-person event will guide you through interactive exercises, group discussions, and meditations to help you connect with your inner self and learn how to heal emotional wounds. Info: We will explore the main tenets of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and how this transformative model mirrors the way our minds naturally function. IFS operates on the understanding that we all have an internal system of different parts, each with its own role and intention, and at the core of it all is the Self—the calm, compassionate, and confident leader within us.
Through discussion and experiential exercises, we will dive into the fundamental principles of IFS, including:
The multiplicity of mind and why all parts are valuable.
The role of protectors (Managers & Firefighters) and how they work to keep us safe.
The wounded Exiles and their impact on emotional healing.
The power of Self-Leadership and how accessing the Self fosters inner harmony.

Info: In this session, we will take a gentle walk to a picturesque gazebo in one of Baldwin Park’s beautiful green spaces, allowing nature to support our exploration of inner connection and self-discovery.

Through a guided experiential meditation, you will have the opportunity to tune into your internal system, noticing the different parts that show up and how they respond in a calm, open space. Immersing in nature enhances self-awareness, presence, and relaxation, creating the perfect setting for a deeper understanding of IFS in both mind and body.

Allow yourself to breathe, listen, and be fully present—both with nature and with yourself.

Info: Experience Internal Family Systems (IFS) in real-time through a live demonstration, where you’ll see how this powerful model unfolds in practice. In this session, I will guide a volunteer through an IFS-informed process, helping them connect with their parts, understand their roles, and access the Self’s natural leadership.

Info: Now it’s time to put IFS into practice! In this interactive session, you will have the opportunity to pair up with a fellow participant and experience the model from both perspectives—as the guide and as the one exploring their inner system.

Info: As we come to the end of our retreat, we will take time to pause, reflect, and integrate all that we have explored together. Through a guided reflection, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Check in with your internal system—what parts showed up throughout the retreat, and what did they need?
Notice shifts—how has your understanding of IFS deepened through experiential learning?
Set an intention—how will you carry this work forward into your personal and professional life?
This will be a gentle, grounding, and heartfelt close, allowing space for final thoughts, shared insights, and an open discussion. Together, we will celebrate the growth, connection, and newfound awareness that this retreat has offered.
