The music of Hank Williams remains one of the most iconic works in any music genre. From joyful young love to painful heartbreak, to sin and redemption, Hank’s lyrics spoke of timeless human emotions woven to melodies that seemed to linger forever in the air like hillbilly dust.
The Island Jubilee Old Time Radio Music Show continues its exciting third season by taking its show on the road to Summerside to celebrate the music of Hank Williams at the Harbourfront Theatre.
The show will feature special guests Mary Dennis, Nudie, Lester MacPherson and Gordie MacKeeman on fiddle, backed by the Jubilee All-Stars which include Thomas Webb on Steel Guitar, Bobby McIsaac on Electric Guitars, Johnny Ross on keys, Jason Burbine on the old doghouse bass, along with co-hosts Janet McGarry and Serge Bernard.
The Show is an authentic captivating experience transporting audiences back to the golden age of radio. Inspired by the early days of the Grand Ole Opry, the show presents Old Time Country Western, Hillbilly and Mountain Music interpreted by the Island’s finest artists, recorded in front of a live studio audience for syndicated radio broadcast at its home – The Florence Simmons Performance Hall in Charlottetown. – Experience the nostalgia as we take this show on the road west – to Summerside!
