Join us in welcoming Peabody Award-winning journalist and the Ira A. Lipman Professor of Journalism at Columbia University, Jelani Cobb. Dr. Cobb is a sought-after author, educator, and staff writer for The New Yorker magazine and a frequent contributor on MSNBC, CNN, NPR, and PBS Frontline.
Dr. Cobb's lecture will address the intersection of race, politics, history, and American culture.
Dr. Clayborne Carson, Martin Luther King, Jr. Centennial Professor Emeritus at Stanford University, will moderate the event.
Proceeds of this fundraising event will benefit African American Library Advisory Council (AALAC) educational and cultural events.
