We are The Grux - A Dave Matthews Tribute Band from San Antonio, Texas. We primarily cover Dave Matthews original music but we are also known to add more 80’s songs to the mix such as:
"Burning Down The House" by The Talking Heads, "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel, "All Along the Watchtower" by Bob Dylan.
Our band name "The Grux" pays tribute to The Dave Matthews Band. During an interview in '09, Carter Beauford, drummer for DMB, describes the origins of the two-pronged name, "Groo Grux". Beauford described the made up word as not only a nickname for LeRoi Moore, saxophonist for DMB, but also to describe the "vibe" and "energy" of their "wild-sounding rhythms" they made when they started playing music together.
Our band would like to bring that same vibe and energy to the stage when we perform at our live events.
