Hi everyone. I’m happy to make a few announcements today
The Groundings 2026
Sept 4,5&6 Labor Day weekend.
Thnx for your patience we’ve been working behind the scenes to make The Groundings 2026 one of the best experiences exploring DC so far.
This year we will be starting all our rides at “DuPont Circle park”.
It’s in the center of Dc and many options for ride leaders to take you place we’ve never taken The groundings in the past.
We hope you can book a room, apartment or hotel near by DuPont circle park. To help everyone with cost and searching around.
**We’ve teamed up with a local property management and personal friends Lara and Alex at Home Sweet City
https://homesweetcity.com/ To help with local rental apartments and homes for this years 2026 Groundingsevent.
They can cater to individuals or large groups.
Use our code “Groundings2026” to book and get discounts 10%-20% Depending on which rental you choose in Dc.
They manage over 100 properties near DuPont circle and throughout the city.
If you need to speak to Lara or Alex regarding any questions before you book feel free to call the at their office. Their number is also on their website.
By booking a room/apt or house near DuPont circle you will be able to take your rides to charger and rest between rides at your hotels or Airbnb during breaks starting Saturday rides will be leaving DuPont Circle every 2 hours.
Rides from DuPont Circle
are as follows.
-Friday Sept. 4
*meet at DuPont Circle 8pm wheels roll at 9pm
-Saturday Sept. 5
*Wheels roll at
*8 am
*10 am
*12 noon main ride
*2 pm
*4 pm
*6 pm
*8pm (all night riding with breaks long range and experienced riders) there is also a second night ride same time for slower riders but not a all night ride. About 15 miles
-Sunday Sept. 6
*Final rides
Wheels roll at
*10 am
*12 noon ride till the batteries die or close to it.
This year there less tension in the city no police check points to worry about.
We will try to keep everyone safe by resting good routes. and please practice safe group riding by being courteous to cars and pedestrians along the way.
As guests here please clean up after yourself and others while at DuPont circle and other places we will be stopping along the way.
Plenty of parking on weeeknds north of DuPont circle. There is also paid parking all around the area there to leave your car if you have valuables inside. I advice not to park on the street if you have valuables like a spare PEV
In your car. Dc area downtown is a nice area so thieves tend to target nice areas for nice things to steal.
One place where it’s really safe to park is near the mansions in dc areas not far from DuPont. I would look to park on
Wyoming ave and 24 street nw area for free safe parking. And it’s only like half mile from DuPont.
