The Grey Lady Sessions is an in-person candlelit concert for the local community.

Set in the enchanting, intimate setting of The Grey Lady Music Lounge, this seated concert features two of Kent’s finest original songwriting acts: Crying Birds and Jez Harley. Bar and dining are available. This is a ticket-only event.

Crying Birds is a trio that showcases the unique voice and songwriting gifts of Mikey Figgins. While there are influences to be heard, ranging from acoustic and electric folk music, through Americana and even some affectionate nods towards psychedelia, the music retains a consistent rawness and sense of interplay that makes every performance unique.

Jez Harley

Jez Harley is a singer/songwriter who has previously been in regular Tunbridge Wells based bands – The Good Ship Band and Harley & Woods. Jez has achieved commercial and critical success as a songwriter with Scott English and as a singer/songwriter in the early 2000’s.

Jez’s current incarnation shares some of the songs and sentiments that he feels are more appropriate for solo material – starting on just piano or guitar and voice, the work is delivered through stripped-back, intimate performances that illuminate and contemplate life’s most precious and delicate moments.
