We have a very special double set performance for June. Greg Ward is a saxophonist and composer who was born in Peoria and came of age on the CIJS stage. After stints at some of the finest jazz venues in NYC and around the world, Greg is now based in Chicago and serves the Jacob School of Music at Indiana University as Assistant Professor of Jazz Saxophone.Ward has had the opportunity to perform and record with a varied group of artists like Prefuse 73, Lupe Fiasco, Tortoise, William Parker, Andrew D'Angelo, and Mike Reed. He maintains an active international touring schedule with various ensembles, and he was recently appointed to the faculty of the Jacob School of Music at Indiana University as Assistant Professor of Jazz Saxophone.
Joining Greg (on alto sax) for this performance are Matt Gold on guitar, Quin Kirchner on drums and Dennis Carroll on bass. This will be an unforgettable hometown performance for this internationally renowned jazz phenom!
