A powerful, contemporary play about activism, courage, and human connection, set aboard a small aid flotilla bound for Gaza
About this Event

The Green Frog is a powerful, contemporary play about activism, courage, and human connection. Set aboard a small aid flotilla bound for Gaza, it follows three friends who set sail in hopes of making a difference. As tensions rise on the open sea, their ideas collide with fear and the harsh realities of being an activist and standing up for peace.

This theatre-led exploration of activism, collective responsibility, and moral courage in a time of global crisis uses humour, symbolism, and intimate storytelling. The piece asks what it truly means to witness injustice and whether awareness alone is enough.

Through the recurring image of a small, symbolic flotilla, the work reflects on solidarity, resistance, and the quiet power of standing up when the world feels overwhelming. Rather than offering answers, it invites audiences to sit with discomfort, empathy, and shared humanity, acknowledging the urgent call to act in the face of suffering, including the ongoing reality in Palestine.

This rehearsed reading of the developing piece will be followed by a short facilitated conversation exploring how this theatre piece communicates complex realities, focused on the themes: asking how art can challenge passivity and provoke conscience. It asks how we stay human, alert, and accountable in a world that encourages looking away.
