The Great SE Pollinator Census Pre-Count at the Zora Neale Hurston Library
About this Event
Why participate?
Pollinators are precious and powerful. More than 90% of flowering plants, including many food crops, rely on pollinators. Collecting data on pollinator diversity, seasonality, and distribution helps support research, education, and conservation efforts.
The Great Florida Pollinator Census will help to:
Learn how to create sustainable pollinator habitats using plants that thrive in our summer conditions while supporting pollinators.
Increase entomological literacy by recognizing and appreciating the incredible diversity of insects around in our environment.
Generate valuable data that allows researchers to identify trends in pollinator populations and better understand weather influences.
