Francine and Lee and GRUB CSA are pillars of our food community. They grow with organic standards, creating GREAT produce and walnuts for us. Their commitment to our community has been epic! They open their farm to those in need. They house our Marketmobile. They teach new farmers how to grow and enfold them into the farming community. They create great Farm To Fork events. They give and give and give and give.And now they could use a l'il of that coming back from the community.
We, here, at BCLFN envision creating a community that grows food together. We LOVE the idea of the old fashioned Barn Raisers- where the whole community would come out to a farm and put up a new barn...or a home...or help get a planting in...or join together for the harvest.
This is our first effort at bringing back the "old ways" by encouraging that community right here, in Butte County. We'd love to create a community that can be counted upon to join hands when our farmers need us. Many hands make for little work when we come together.
Join them on Wednesday, June 16 from 8:30 to noon as they harvest the potatoes. Take home a 5 pound bag for your family. Laugh lots, meet new people as see old friends. Let's make this happen!
