The Great Cover Up | A Book Cover Painting Social

They say don’t judge a book by its cover, so we are making entirely new ones.

The Great Cover Up is a Sunday afternoon book exchange and painting social happening at The Bangalore Local. Instead of a standard, quiet art workshop, this is a creative exchange built around good stories and terrible art skills.

Bring a physical copy of a book you absolutely love. You will swap it with a stranger, give them a 60-second pitch on what makes the story great, and spend the afternoon painting a custom, wrap-around cover for their book while they design one for yours.

What to Expect:

• The Drop (BYOB): Bring Your Own Book. Paperbacks work best. Bring something you love and are willing to let a stranger re-jacket.
• The Arsenal: We provide the blank, wrap-around dust jackets, paints, brushes, palettes, and everything you need to create a mess. You just bring the book.
• Zero Skill Required: You do not need to be an artist to attend. Abstract, chaotic, and messy covers are highly encouraged.
