HOW the HUNT WORKS
At the start of the hunt our in-person host will give players/ teams a “classic” scavenger hunt list of items to find, and a collection of clues to choose from, directing them to various Checkpoint locations, where bonus point challenges may be attempted.
Using a smart phone & the internet to solve clues and complete challenges, teams can choose their type of hunt experience:
1) just hunt for items;
2) just solve clues & complete challenges; or
3) a combination of both at the same time.
A Photo Hunt
The hunt is one in which you’ll shoot and submit digital photographs/ videos of items found, Checkpoints, and challenges. Clues may directly identify Checkpoint locations, or contain cryptic riddles, such as:
“Travel to the northernmost theater within the District...”
that players/ teams must figure out, or include historical or physical elements, such as a partial show logo, indicating where to go.
Checkpoints
are located throughout the Theater Disrtrict. Once discovered, players will have the option of completing theater-related challenges for bonus points, such as, but not limited to:
- song or dance;
- book or lyrics;
- draw or diva;
- pop-quiz or Broadway math.
Clues & Challenges
are typically created to highlight the history of Checkpoint locations, and designed to give players a chance to show off their creativity, resourcefulness, and talents.
Points
Each item found, clue solved/ Checkpoint reached, and challenge completed successfully, is worth a predetermined number of points, depending upon degree of difficulty (we guarantee to stump you!).
You do NOT need any prior knowledge of Broadway, musicals, or theater to play, compete, and do well!
