About this Event
Put down the shame and sing in this work-in-progress showing of Joanie Bones' unique participatory-gig-theatre show, The Great Big Women’s Song Sanctuary .
Joanie brings her unique mix of a capella singing, vocal looping and heart warming tales of connection to invite you on a healing journey, using communal singing and spoken word to skillfully & safely guide you through themes familiar to any woman: themes such as negative body image; pregnancy; miscarriage; abortion; not having children; sexual violence, ageing - all of which are lurk in the shadows of historic shame & isolation.
The show is for people of all genders. After all, these issues affect us all.
Througout the show you will always returned to safety & connection through Joanie's warm and engaging presence and her active invitation to co-create this gig theatre ritual with her, where together you can transform the grief and shame of historic isolation into connection, redemption and celebration.
This is a showing of the work in its current form and will be followed by opportunities to give feedback.
The most important thing is your feedback, so tickets for this work-in-progress showing are free. However the costs of developing and staging the work are considerable, so please do consider giving a donation
