SAVE THE (NEW) DATE! - DECEMBER 4
The Dayton Holiday Festival is your source for family-friendly holiday fun in downtown Dayton!
Started by Mrs. Virginia Kettering in 1972 so that all children could enjoy the holiday season regardless of their economic means, the festival continues today with free attractions for the community.
This year, downtown's traditional kickoff to the holiday season moves to a new date! Previously held on the day after Thanksgiving, the 2026 Grande Illumination will take place on the first Friday in December. Mark your calendar now for Friday, December 4!
The event will take place at Courthouse Square and The Dayton Arcade, along with First Friday fun throughout downtown.
A few other changes and fun surprises are in store, and will be announced soon, here on this event page and at downtowndayton.org.
Make plans now to help us light the tree and start the season downtown on December 4!
