The Goddamn Gallows with Jayke Orvis and Misty Cans and the Horny Toads!!

We are very honored and excited to host The Goddamn Gallows at Den Cocktails and Casino!

In 2004 The Goddamn Gallows began their rough and tumble voyage and haven't looked in the review mirror since. Leaving six studio albums in their path, they have been reinventing their music with every record. Spit from the heart of America's Rust Belt, arising from a night of flophouse violence. Drifting across the states, they cemented their sound in Portland, OR, and later in Los Angeles, CA, where they lived in abandoned buildings, squatter camps, storage units and shoebox apartments. In 2007, they left everything behind and spent the next four years living out of whatever vehicle would get them to the next town. Building upon their original sound of twanged-out, punk rock "gutterbilly" (Life of Sin 2004 and Gutterbillyblues 2007), they began picking up stray musicians along the way and adding to their sound; washboard, accordion, mandolin, and banjo (Ghost of th’ Rails 2009 and 7 Devils 2011), creating a sound referred to as "hobocore", "gypsy-punk" or "americana-punk", while never being stuck in any one sound. Enter 2018, and The Goddamn Gallows have reinvented themselves once again with The Trial. From rockabilly, psychobilly, and punk rock to bluegrass and metal, The Trial infuses disparate sounds into a new, strange recipe of seamless genre-bending profundities. Chock full of impromptu antics of the shocking variety and hauntingly eclectic instrumentation, The Goddamn Gallows have made legions of fans with their legendary live shows. The Goddamn

Opening the night (and playing with his former band on a few limited dates on the tour) is Jayke Orvis!

A native of Milwaukee, WI, Orvis has been setting and raising the bar for punks-turned-pickers ever since his days in .357 String Band -of which he is a founding and former member. Known for his lightning-quick mandolin picking, he effortlessly infuses punk, rock, blues, gypsy, honky-tonk, bluegrass, and old-time to develop a style all his own, helping to define the sound of a genre while simultaneously, and gratifyingly, making it all that much more difficult to pin a name on.

After leaving Milwaukee in 2007, he relocated to Pittsburgh, PA, where he now calls home, that is, when he's not touring with his new project, Jayke Orvis & The Broken Band. As a singer, instrumentalist, composer, and bandleader, Orvis relies on an impressive live lineup assembled for The Broken Band

Jayke Orvis's debut offering, It's All Been Said, was released in 2010 on Farmageddon Records. The ten-song album, recorded by J.B. Beverly at his Richmond-based Rebel Roots Studio, highlights a more personal side of Orvis's songwriting, masterfully running the gamut from dusty countrified ballads to infectious, flat picked throw-downs between he and the other artists gathered for the recording, including J.B. Beverly, Johnny Lawless, Dan Mazer, James Hunnicutt, Avery (of The Goddamn Gallows), and cigar box guitar whiz Geo Ballentine.

It's All Been Said continues drawing more and more attention to Orvis, who has recently received airplay on Sirius, earned an official endorsement from Weber Mandolins, and celebrated an Artist of the Year 2010 nod from Saving Country Music.

Opening for the show is Sioux Falls own cross-genre act, Misty Cans and the Horny Toads. They have played and opened for acts in Sioux Falls such as Bridge City Sinners, Scott H. Biram, and Gasoline Lollipops!
