The Class 57/3s, with their General Motors 12645F3B engines, have a top speed of 95 mph and are fitted with electric train supply equipment, making them ideal traction for GB Railfreight passenger train operations. Join us on this one-way charity excursion, with all First Class accommodation, from Glasgow Central to Derby via the beautiful LNW Railway.For the track enthusiast, highlights are many and include Up Clydesdale Goods, Rutherglen West Curve, Anniesland P2 to Maryhill link line, Cowlairs West Curve, Gartcosh Curve, Coatbridge Up Slow, Mossend Up North Curve, Up Holytown, Law Up Branch Loop, various WCML loops, the new Bamford Loop and the realigned Dore Curve.
There will be a charity raffle with all proceeds donated to the GBRf nominated good cause, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.
Our Buffet Car will provide a range of hot and cold drinks, a variety of freshly prepared hot food, snacks and light refreshments. There will be a real ale bar, serving hand pulled real ales. All profits from the real ale bar will be donated to our charity.
A reversal at Carnforth Up & Dn Goods No 2 will ensure both Class 57/3s, which will be operating top 'n tail, will provide power.
