About this Event

AGE of Central Texas and Hospice Austin are offering a Valentine of peace-of-mind by hosting the free, 2-part seminar exploring “The GIFT of Advance Care Planning: The GIFT Project” on Saturday, February 15th. Part of the on-going workshop series to help family members effectively care for an older adult, this FREE event will be held from 9:30am to 2:00pm at the AGE of Central Texas South Location, 9400 Alice Mae Lane, Austin, TX, 78748

The GIFT Project is an initiative of Hospice Austin to encourage advance care planning prior to a health care crisis. This interactive seminar empowers participants to identify what matters most to them and take steps to ensure their wishes are honored.

The discussion will be divided into two (2) interactive sessions with FREE lunch provided.

9:30am - 10am: Check In with breakfast tacos and coffee provided

Session #1 : 10am - 12pm will include how to:

• Identify your healthcare preferences

• Designate a medical power of attorney who you would like to speak for you

• Discuss your wishes with loved ones and medical providers

• Complete your Texas advance directives legal forms

12pm-1pm: Lunch

Session #2: 1pm-2pm will focus on completing the Texas Advance Directives forms, with experts on-hand to help you complete the forms and answers questions about advance care planning.

Both of the sessions and legal documents are free, and the sessions are available for everyone 18 years of age and older.

Registration for the conference is free, but space is limited, so register today!


Featured Presenters:

Mary Beth Lee is a Registered Nurse who has the privilege of working with Hospice Austin for the past 11 years. She came to hospice after her father received such kindness and care while on services.

In a previous life, she worked in Human Resources. She enjoys spending time with her family, road trips and walking her adopted, curious rat terriers Bella and Gracie.


Ginny Erboe has been a Registered Nurse for 33 years. She got her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Texas Woman's University and her Masters in Nursing Administration at the University of Texas. She has been doing hospice for 23 years, with 22 years at Hospice Austin as an admissions RN, and prior to that she was at Seton Medical Center on the cardiac floor and in the electrophysiology lab. She has been involved with the GIFT project (Giving Instructions For Tomorrow) for 6 years and her passion is to serve and help others.
