Jo Robinson is proud to announce Genie Out the Bottle, a
major retrospective exhibition of her work as artist, animator and activist.
Running from 20th January to 8th February 2026, the exhibition charts Robinson’s extraordinary journey from the front lines of 1960s political unrest to her recognition as a pivotal figure in British feminist art.
Best known for her activist posters and her role in the 1970 Miss Worldbprotest—immortalised by actress Jessie Buckley in the 2020 film Misbehaviour—Robinson’s
profile was recently featured in the Tate’s landmark 2024 exhibition, Women in Revolt.
This local retrospective offers a rare, intimate look at her evolution as an artist, spanning theatre set design, animation, and the iconic posters that helped shape British social history.
