How does a mineral become a gemstone—and eventually a treasured piece of jewellery?

Explore the science, craftsmanship and stories behind gemstones at The Gem Museum Singapore. Follow their journey from formation within the earth through mining, cutting, polishing and jewellery making.

Whether you’re visiting with family, curious about your jewellery or beginning a gem collection, there’s something to discover.

What you’ll see and do

• Follow the Mine-to-Market journey and discover how gemstones are transformed.
• Explore minerals, gemstones and rare specimens from around the world.
• Learn about crystal systems and gems with unusual optical effects.
• Try our illuminated Gemstones of the World map to discover where gems are found.
• Examine designated hands-on samples and compare rough and polished gems.
• Browse The Gem Museum Shop for souvenirs or pieces for your collection.

Free admission — registration is compulsory

Choose your visiting date and arrival slot, then complete your registration before visiting. Please register everyone in your group so our team can plan manpower for each session.

Free guided tours

Free guided tours run on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2pm only. If you would like a guided tour, check the available guided-tour ticket option when booking.

Optional paid activities

You can also explore hands-on experiences such as geode breaking, polishing and Gem Art. These activities have separate charges. Check the ticket descriptions for prices and inclusions.

• Advance registration required – walk-ins cannot be accommodated

Arrival policy

Please arrive 5–10 minutes early. Late arrivals may not be admitted if the slot is full, but we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

• Masks are optional. If you’re unwell, please wear a mask.
• Please bring your own drinking water.

Be greeted by our rock garden and learn to spot the difference between gemstones in raw and polished forms.

Try our LED Gemstones of the World Map—flick the switch and see where gem mines are located.

Take your time to explore The Gem Museum Shop, where you can find meaningful souvenirs or begin your own gem and mineral collection. Clearly labeled pieces and friendly guides make it easy to learn and ask questions along the way.

Geode polishing — S$8 per piece. Add polishing to your geode-breaking experience. Geodes are charged separately.
NOTE: This is an add-on to the Geode breaking Experience. This ticket does not come with a geode.
