We open our stage to live performances by local musicians, actors, singers, authors and poets who are ready to share their artistry with others!

In honor of artists everywhere, our local gallery is launching a continuous event to support local residents by providing a non-discriminatory, open mic stage for live performances enriched by various backgrounds and lifestyles that give a dynamically authentic perspective to finding positivity... using art, music and comedy as a way to lift the spirit and heal the soul.

NineFingers is a Sacramento based autobiographical songwriter who performs in multiple genres from Dark Folk to Hip Hop and many things in between and specializes in songs about addiction, grief, and heartbreak. He also hosts a weekly dodgeball game as @RiverCityDodgeball that he encourages everyone to come join him at because he’s insistent that “adults need recess more than anyone”. During his recent years spent in Bakersfield he had his hip hop release “Where the Water Meets the Earth Beneath the Sky” declared the 2019 Single of the Year and he was also named the Artist of the Year by the Bakersfield Californian. In 2021 he had his Dark Country release “Lilith” named the 2021 Country Single of the Year by the Bakersfield Music Awards. New Noise Magazine reviewed his latest album release “LOOP” and stated “NineFingers bridges the gap between Leonard Cohen and Sturgill Simpson”.

Location of event will be at the Self Designs Art Gallery, a local Black owned family business that serves to promote, inspire and entertain art lovers in the Lavender Heights and Handle Districts of Midtown, and surrounding Sacramento.

This 21+ event is a fun, safe LGBTQIA+ Pride Friendly Artist Zone, where we encourage all varieties of art and expression. Performers who sign up will receive FREE entry for Open Mic events and 1st FLOOR TICKETS are available for $10 online & at the door for guests.

*REFUND POLICY- As this Open Mic Series will be a continuous event offered by our gallery, your funds are used to support the artists and performers as well as providing art supplies for current students in our facility. Credits towards attending another event on the same or later date will be allowed for all ticket holders who show verification of online purchase.
