The Future of Us: A community conversation about AI
About this Event
Canada’s new federal AI for All strategy puts more than $2.3 billion behind a major push to bring AI into more workplaces, public services, and businesses. It also supports a massive expansion of data centres across Canada. That means more pressure on electricity, water, land, and household costs if governments do not set strong rules.
The government says this will create jobs, improve services, and help Canada compete.
But what does that mean for your job, your privacy, your access to services, your community, and your right to be heard when something goes wrong?
Who are you being asked to trust: the tools, the companies building them, the employers using them, the public agencies bringing them into services, or the rules meant to protect you?
Once AI is built into workplaces, public services, and infrastructure, the costs become much harder to reverse. You should have a say now, before decisions about AI are locked in.
Join us for a community conversation about:
- Who is responsible when AI causes harm
- When you should have the right to speak with a real person
- How workers should be protected from AI monitoring, management, or replacement
- How Canada should protect personal data, public data, electricity, water, and local infrastructure
Come share your concerns, experiences, and ideas
We will use your feedback to create public awareness and push for stronger AI protections.
