About this Event

How do we become more impact-focused - not just in theory, but in how we work every day? How do we measure what really matters? And how can we learn from each other to do it all with more clarity, intention, and courage?

The Future of Social Impact is a one-day, in-person gathering designed to bring together a diverse community of people working across sectors from social enterprises to charities, funders to public service to explore what it really takes to create meaningful, measurable change.

Expect inspiring client stories, hands-on sessions, honest conversations, and lots of space to connect with people who care about this work as much as you do.

Whether you're just starting to rethink your approach, or you're deep in the weeds of impact measurement and strategy, this is a space to be inspired, be honest, and leave with practical tools and fresh ideas to take back to your team.

Breakout Session A & B

Info: (Session A) How to build a meaningful Theory of Change
Whether you’re just starting out or refreshing your organisation’s approach, this session breaks down how to build a Theory of Change that’s clear, credible, and useful, including common mistakes, hidden benefits and how to make them stick.

(Session B) Communicating your difference: Balancing truth, emotion and accountability
Clearly and credibly communicating your impact is essential – not just to attract funding, but to stay accountable to the people you serve. This session explores how to craft an authentic impact narrative that reflects your strategy, data, and values.

🕑: 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM
Breakout Sessions C & D

Info: (Session C) How to design impact frameworks that get used
Impact frameworks should guide decisions, not sit on shelves. This session looks at how to create or refine impact frameworks that are practical, proportionate, and meaningful. We’ll be joined by Lily Eastwood of Literacy Pirates to explore co-design approaches, aligning with partners, how to balance rigour with usability, and how to integrate frameworks into organisational planning, delivery, and reporting. You’ll leave with ideas to ensure your framework becomes a living tool – not just a box-ticking exercise.

(Session D) Measuring impact policy and campaign work
Evaluating policy influence and advocacy outcomes is notoriously difficult, but it’s increasingly necessary. This session will explore emerging methods and real-world case studies for assessing the impact of work that aims to shift systems, behaviours, and narratives. We’ll look at contribution vs attribution, use of qualitative and developmental approaches.

Tech for Good - Getting to grips with AI

Info: Technology, especially AI is transforming how social impact organisations work, from service delivery to fundraising and research. But for many, it still feels out of reach. This interactive session explores how to get the most out of tech without huge investment, sharing practical, real-world examples of “good” AI in action with Lightening Talks from charities and funders from our sector.

🕑: 02:30 PM - 03:00 PM
Breakout Sessions E & F

We'll cover how to get meaningful insights while navigating GDPR, demystify common challenges around time, systems and cost, and offer clear first steps for managing data responsibly. Perfect for those just starting out or looking to make smarter, more ethical use of data.

(Breakout Sessions F) Collecting Data From Multiple Sources – Drop.To
With lots of organisations now wanting to collect live data from a range of different sources, including front line teams, how do you manage the data collection process in a simple and cost-effective way? In this session, we will look at how the data collection platform ‘www.drop.to’ is enabling organisations like The Ramblers to effectively collect simple data from local walking groups without making the task overly complicated or difficult for busy front-line teams.
