The Future of Sex: How our devices, apps & platforms are changing intimacy
Sex has always evolved alongside technology.
What’s different now is that intimacy is increasingly shaped by algorithms, data, and digitally engineered devices.
From how people meet and flirt, to how pleasure is enhanced, measured, and sometimes over-optimized, technology is transforming sexual experience at a pace that’s hard to ignore. Many of these changes are already embedded in everyday life — often without us fully examining their implications.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, sex-tech expert and guest lecturer Sabrina Baldini will examine sex and digital intimacy through the lens of design, neuroscience, psychology, and human behaviour. She’ll explore what these technologies actually do, what the evidence tells us about connection, arousal, and satisfaction, and where the most meaningful shifts are occurring.
If we’re going to talk seriously about sex and technology, we might as well do it with a drink in hand!
Themes: sex · technology · intimacy · pleasure · human connection
