We're going downtown! Join Manny's for a conversation about the future of Market Street on Market Street itself!
About this Event

Join the Manny's community for this exciting off-site event! We will be having a conversation about the future of the Market Street with it as the backdrop! The solutions, ideas, and dreams we discuss will feel tangible and real as we sit amongst the sky scrapers, transit routes, and tourists.

What solutions are being proposed to bring energy back to downtown and Market Street? Who are the thinkers and dreamers at the forefront of San Francisco's urban design? What ideas do you, the audience, have for the future of Market Street? This conversation will cover all this and more.

After the conversation, we will head two blocks over to Harrington's Bar + Grill where folks will get the chance to mingle, chat with panelists, and grab a drink. Your ticket covers both event entry and your first wine, beer, well cocktail, or NA beverage! We can't wait to spend the evening downtown with this community!

Panelists:

Simon Bertrang is Executive Director of SF New Deal, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening neighborhoods by making it easier for under-resourced small business owners to succeed. Simon shares SF New Deal’s founding belief that small businesses serve as the cornerstones of San Francisco’s cultural fabric and identity, and is committed to building a more equitable city for all San Franciscans.  Simon worked previously in the Tenderloin and for City government and lives in San Francisco with his family.

Sara Fenske Bahat is the CEO of the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA). Sara works collaboratively with the YBCA team to advance the organization as a dynamic home for artists, arts and culture, and movement building. Prior to becoming CEO, Sara served as YBCA’s Board Chair. Under her leadership, YBCA navigated COVID-19 pandemic challenges (which resulted in the longest mass closure of cultural venues since World War II), received support from leading innovators for groundbreaking work at the intersection of arts and movement building, and launched the nation’s first dedicated guaranteed income program for artists.

Sara has a community finance and economic development background. Before becoming an educator, she worked for New York City’s economic development agency and in banking, where she championed local government support for community banks, improved banking and savings products for immigrant households, and multi-state consumer protection settlements.
