Experience a unique panel debate regarding the profession and skills of Game Producers in Denmark.
About this Event

The game producer is often responsible for the coordination of work in a game development studio and organizing processes for development teams to create games. However, the game producer role is fluid in nature, and its unique skillset, and the strategy and logic that go into producing games, is not easy to define.

Game projects vary greatly in size, scope, and length. By working on shoe-string budgets, many professional game producers must simultaneously operate as artists, business entrepreneurs, and technical innovators to make ends meet by crafting interactive digital experiences. Moreover, their work happens in interdisciplinary teams. Specialized roles such as digital artists, programmers, sound engineers, data analysts, and designers alike, are all involved in game production, and they interact and communicate with each other to bridge knowledge gaps along the way. As such, through facilitating and coordinating game development, game producers execute a potential for both creativity and entrepreneurship within a team to produce a game product on time, on budget, and for a specific audience or market.

With our next physical meet-up, the Game Producers' Network invites you to experience a unique panel debate regarding the game producer profession in Denmark. We ask experts from both Danish game education and the game industry: What defines a game producer? What skill set does a game producer have? How does one become an expert in game production? The discussion will be facilitated by Associate Professor at ITU and Head of the Center for Digital Play, Miguel Angel Sicart.

The event will be hosted at ITU.
