Abstract: The idea that we could do computation using quantum physics was proposed by Richard Feynman over 40 years ago. Today, we have a rich ecosystem of researchers exploring different qubit modalities. Quantum error correction is the common goal that will enable scalable and fault-tolerant quantum computing. But what is a qubit? What is fault tolerance? Why do they matter? And how will faultless, multi qubit computers transform lives?
