Frank Zappa’s music is no place to fake it. The Furious Bongos bring their gloriously twisted take on his catalog to The Theater at Innovation Square on Saturday, April 24.
These formidable players have résumés that include B.B. King, Mick Fleetwood, James Taylor, Yo-Yo Ma & more, and the chops to tackle Zappa’s notoriously demanding music. But don’t expect a note-for-note trip down Nostalgia Lane - like Frank himself would have done, they keep it unpredictable, playful, and appropriately weird, all while paying respect to his legacy.
Serious musicians. Unserious behavior. Entirely the point.
