The Funny Side of Earlsfield - Stand-Up Comedy
About this Event
Our monthly Saturday night comedy show in south West London features some of the very best UK and international stand-up comedians on the circuit. The Funny Side clubs were established in 2006 and have the reputation of the boutique comedy night – great acts in a great venue. Tara is an intimate theatre space and perfect for comedy!
This month’s line-up includes … STEPHEN K AMOS (AS SEEN on The Stephen K Amos show (BBC), Live At The Apollo (BBC), Bradley Walsh: Legends of Comedy (Channel 5), The Royal Variety Show (ITV), Have I Got News For You (BBC) and Mock The Week (BBC))
Our headline act, Stephen K Amos, is one of the nation’s favourite comedians, celebrated for his natural warmth, assured delivery and honest, original material. Stephen has charmed and entertained audiences around the world, bringing his distinctive comic voice to theatres and festivals across the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. With sell-out performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and London’s Soho Theatre, he has earned a reputation as one of the most engaging live performers.
Join us for an evening of wit, warmth and laughter with a comedian whose personality and experience make him a headline act to savour.
"One of the most purely enjoyable stand-ups in the business." Critic's Choice, The Times
"Unashamed feel-good entertainment. Amos has had his share of TV exposure, but nothing that has successfully captured what he does live." The Evening Standard ★★★★
"The warmest comic around, able to riff off a crowd and make them feel good about themselves." The Sunday Times
"Amos gives the impression of one born to entertain. Hekeeps the gags flowing thick and fast with sharp observations and stories before producing more devastating one-liners from up his sleeve." Metro
MAIN SUPPORT COMES FROM ….PHYLLIDA
A night with Phyllida is like no other. She exists for that one night only—but for that night, she’ll share everything. The lyrics, the music, and the conversation are all inspired by the audience and created on the spot. From her piano, she’ll tell of her amusing adventures, her incredible career, and her most personal moments. One night only. Freshly back from her European tour.
"The star of the festival" Sirp Magazine, Estonia
